Adult Bible Study

Adult Bible Study takes place Tuesday mornings from 9:30-10:30AM at Pleasant View Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, 500 N. Jackson St., Morrison. All are welcome to join the discussion on any Tuesday. The scripture readings for the upcoming Sunday are discussed. The Presbyterian Mission Agency provides printable lectionary lists.

 

Children’s Sunday School

Children's Sunday School is held most Sundays beginning at 9:15am and runs from September through May.

Confirmation

Confirmation is a time for youth to begin to develop an adult understanding of their spirituality. Most importantly, it is a time to understand what it means to dedicate their life to the Triune God and to have a solid understanding of what it means to publicly declare Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. The act of Confirmation is to confirm one’s baptismal vows, made by their parents when they were infants or children. It can also be a time to baptize previously unbaptized youth. Youth who would like to join the church go through a membership class, along with their parents, in conjunction with Confirmation classes. This enables them to prepare to become informed and involved members of the congregation. Classes are offered every few years. Contact the pastor for more information.

 

Stronghold Camp & Retreat Center

Summer camp scholarships are available to children and youth of the church who would like to attend Stronghold, a retreat and camping center operated by the Presbytery of Blackhawk, Presbyterian Church (USA). The camp is located in the beautiful wooded hills of Oregon IL.

 

Vacation Bible School

Every summer, the churches of Morrison come together to host a week-long evening VBS, generally in June. VBS typically serves 120-150 children.
